What is the "Infosphere"? This is the successor of the World Wide Web, according to Michael Vlahos, from the Johns Hopkins University. The infosphere will require two things: an interoperable computing platform and bandwidth.The two authors (one of them being chairman and CEO emeritus of Mitsubishi Electric America) argue that Microsoft is standing in our way by imposing proprietary standards and limiting our power to be creative.

The PhraselatorWhat is a Phraselator? It's a device which can be used in harsh environments and can translate about a thousand spoken English sentences into many other languages.
For now, it's being used in Afghanistan.
In the future, it might be a two-way communication system, allowing a french guy like myself to go to almost any country, say something in french, and have this device translating what I want to say in the local language.

Deutsche Bahn to sue GoogleYou probably remember that two french associations sued Yahoo! because it showed Nazi objects on its auction site.
Now, Deutsche Bahn is suing Google (and maybe Yahoo! and AltaVista soon) because it displays a page offering instructions on how to sabotage railway systems.
