81st Infantry Division (United States)
The 81st Infantry Division ("Wildcat") was a unit of the United States Army in World War I and World War II.
The insignia of the 81st Infantry Division was allowed for wear by the 81st Support Command, which continues to use the same shoulder patch insignia. According to the U.S. Army Center of Military History, the lineage of TO&E units can not be perpetuated by TDA units; however, Army Reserve commands, Regional Support commands and others have been allowed to wear the shoulder sleeve insignia of like-numbered divisions of an earlier era.

Famous quotes containing the word division:
“That crazed girl improvising her music,
Her poetry, dancing upon the shore,
Her soul in division from itself
Climbing, falling she knew not where,
Hiding amid the cargo of a steamship
Her knee-cap broken.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
