Famous Residents
Anshan was the birthplace of Ann Hui (born 1947), a Hong Kong-based film director, one of the most critically acclaimed amongst the Hong Kong New Wave. Hui's 2006 film The Postmodern Life of My Aunt was partly set and filmed in Anshan.
