Download 2013
The eleventh annual Download festival has been confirmed for the 14–16 June 2013. Early bird tickets went on sale 15 June 2012, where a newly implemented deposit scheme was introduced; which allowed customers to pay for their ticket(s) over three payments rather than one. Iron Maiden was announced as the Saturday headliner on 20 September 2012. Rammstein let slip on the same day that they will be headlining Download on the Sunday, before quickly removing all prior mention of such. This was confirmed by the festival organisers the following morning. Seven days later it was confirmed via Andy Copping that Slipknot would be the Friday headliner. On 5 November, Alice in Chains, 30 Seconds to Mars, Motörhead, HIM, The Gaslight Anthem, Queens of the Stone Age and A Day to Remember were all confirmed for the festival. On 8 November, Volbeat announced on their website that they were playing at the festival. This was later confirmed on the Download Festival's Facebook page. On 22 November Bullet For My Valentine self confirmed themselves for the festival, this was then confirmed on organiser Andy Copping's Twitter account.
