Modern Influence
In art and poetry, the einherjar are often portrayed as an element of the larger concept of Valhalla. Examples include "Gastmahl in Walhalla (mit einziehenden Einheriern)" (1880, charcoal drawing) by K. Ehrenberg, and the poem "Einheriarne" (published in Nordens Guder, 1819) by A. Oehlenschläger, and "Braga" (1771) by Klopstock. The Norwegian musical group Einherjer take their name from the einherjar.
The sports club of Vopnafjörður, Iceland is named Einherji (singular form of einherjar).
