Cover
Hendrix wrote to Reprise describing exactly what he wanted for the cover art, but was mostly ignored. He expressly asked for a color photo by Linda Eastman of the group sitting with children on a sculpture from Alice in Wonderland in Central Park, even drawing a picture of it for reference. The company instead used a blurred red and yellow photo of his head, taken by Karl Ferris. Track Records had its own art department, which produced a cover depicting 19 nude women lounging in front of a black background taken by photographer David Montgomery, who also shot the inside cover portrait of Hendrix.

Famous quotes containing the word cover:
“Between us, we cover all knowledge; he knows all that can be known and I know the rest.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
“You may call a jay a bird. Well, so he is, in a measurebecause hes got feathers on him, and dont belong to no church, perhaps; but otherwise he is just as much a human as you be. And Ill tell you for why. A jays gifts and instincts, and feelings, and interests, cover the whole ground. A jay hasnt got any more principle than a Congressman.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
“Though the whole wind
slash at your bark,
you are lifted up,
aye though it hiss
to cover you with froth.”
—Hilda Doolittle (18861961)
