Famous quotes containing the word land:
“Gone are the days when my heart was young and gay,
Gone are my friends from the cotton fields away,
Gone from the earth to a better land I know,
I hear their gentle voices calling Old Black Joe.”

“When I have reached the shady underground
With but sad hope of coming up again,
I shall implore your ghost to hover round
And guide me to a land of lucky men....”
