Regions and Sectors


Guinea-Bissau is divided into 8 regions (regiões) and one autonomous sector (sector autónomo). These in turn are subdivided into thirty-seven sectors. The regions are:

  • Bafatá
  • Biombo
  • Bissau*
  • Bolama
  • Cacheu
  • Gabu
  • Oio
  • Quinara
  • Tombali
