Kashubians - History

History

Kashubians are the native Slavic people, living on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Studies have shown that Kashubians are the remnant of the Medieval Pomeranian people, who came to Pomerania before the Poles.

Kashuba doesn't have the status of the nation, but the regional ethnic communities. Their original language as well as the status of the national heritage. They have maintained their ethnic characteristics, since they live in isolation for centuries. They founded the city of Gdansk. They always had connections with the Serbian people. One of the Kashubians capitals in the Middle Ages was called Belgrade.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

The only thing worse than a liar is a liar that’s also a hypocrite!
There are only two great currents in the history of mankind: the baseness which makes conservatives and the envy which makes revolutionaries.
    Edmond De Goncourt (1822–1896)

The greatest horrors in the history of mankind are not due to the ambition of the Napoleons or the vengeance of the Agamemnons, but to the doctrinaire philosophers. The theories of the sentimentalist Rousseau inspired the integrity of the passionless Robespierre. The cold-blooded calculations of Karl Marx led to the judicial and business-like operations of the Cheka.
    Aleister Crowley (1875–1947)

If you look at history you’ll find that no state has been so plagued by its rulers as when power has fallen into the hands of some dabbler in philosophy or literary addict.
    Desiderius Erasmus (c. 1466–1536)
