Koshi Barrage

The Koshi Barrage is a flood control sluice across the Koshi River in Nepal, near the Nepal–Indian border. It was built between 1958 and 1962. It has 52 gates which are controlled by Indian officers although it is in Nepal. Downstream of the barrage near the India boarder Indian government has created an embankment and this embankment can create floods and other problems in Nepal.

The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is roughly 3–4 miles north of the Barrage.
