Biography
He studied at the University of Cincinnati from 1921. In 1924 he went to New York, working on the New York Times, then in publishing and on Fortune.
He was a drama critic for Time Magazine from 1938 to 1961, mentioned by Whittaker Chambers in his 1952 memoir. Then he was theater arts professor at Brandeis University.
