See also: Messiah#Christianity and Christian eschatologyChristian eschatology includes several views of the Messianic Age.
According to Realized eschatology, the Messianic Era, a time of universal peace and brotherhood on the earth, without crime, war and poverty, is already here. With the death of Christ himself, according to ancient roman jurisdiction on the cross, the Messianic Era had begun and will only be fulfilled by the parusia of Christ. The Book of Revelation refers to the "unveiling" or "revelation" of Jesus Christ as Christian Messiah in the apocalypse or end of the world.
The Nicene Creed expresses the belief that Christ ascended to Heaven, where he now sits at the Right Hand of God and will return to earth at the Second Coming of Christ to establish the Kingdom of God of the World to Come.

Famous quotes containing the word christianity:
“With two thousand years of Christianity behind him ... a man cant see a regiment of soldiers march past without going off the deep end. It starts off far too many ideas in his head.”
—Louis-Ferdinand Céline (18941961)
“But, with whatever exception, it is still true that tradition characterizes the preaching of this country; that it comes out of the memory, and not out of the soul; that it aims at what is usual, and not at what is necessary and eternal; that thus historical Christianity destroys the power of preaching, by withdrawing it from the exploration of the moral nature of man; where the sublime is, where are the resources of astonishment and power.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Give me Catholicism every time. Father Cheeryble with his thurible; Father Chatterjee with his liturgy. What fun they have with all their charades and conundrums! If it werent for the Christianity they insist on mixing in with it, Id be converted tomorrow.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
