Famous quotes containing the words military, czech and/or republic:

The domestic career is no more natural to all women than the military career is natural to all men.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

I’m neither Czech nor Slovak ... I’m still trying to figure out who I am. I think I’m Jewish. But first I want to be human.
    Natasha Dudinska (b. c. 1967)

Instead of cultivating the earth for wheat and potatoes, they cultivate literature, and fill a place in the Republic of Letters. Or they would fain write for fame merely, as others actually raise crops of grain to be distilled into brandy.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
