Further information: List of schools in TraffordTrafford maintains a selective education system assessed by the Eleven Plus exam. There are four primary schools and one secondary school in Partington. The oldest school still standing in the town was opened in 1958 and used to be called Partington County Primary School. There are two other state primary schools at Moss View and Forestgate. There is also a Roman Catholic school – Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School on Lock Lane. Broadoak Secondary School is a foundation school and a specialist sports college with 340 pupils aged 11 to 16. In its 2008 Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) report, the school was described as "good". Since 1993, Trafford College (then South Trafford College) has used part of Broadoak Secondary School as a centre of further and adult education in the town.
