P.O.K. - Easter Cup

Easter Cup

The first Easter Cup was organized by P.O.K. in 1928 with the participation of the Serbian and Romanian Beogradski benzo corps. It continued, with interruptions, until 1964. Of the total of 22 events that took place, one (in 1948) stopped before completion. After Olympiakos, who won the cup 10 times, came AEK and Panathinaikos with four wins and lastly, with one win each, came Ethnikos Piraeus, German team Cologne RT and Romanian team Progkresoul Bucharest. From 1930 to 1935 there were no events held due to obligations of the top clubs (POK) on the national stage, but the three POK teams continued to play each other in the stadium of Alexandras Avenue during Easter.

Famous quotes containing the words easter and/or cup:

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You’ll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade.
    Irving Berlin (1888–1989)

There is not enough exercise in this way of life. I try to make up by active gymnastics before I dress when I get up, by walking rapidly in the lower hall and the greenhouse after each meal for perhaps five to ten minutes, and a good hand rubbing before going to bed. I eat moderately; drink one cup of coffee at breakfast and one cup of tea at lunch and no other stimulant. My health is now, and usually, excellent.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
