Politics of Pakistan

Politics of Pakistan (Urdu: پاکستان کی سیاست‎) takes place within the framework of a federal republic, where the system of government has at times been parliamentary, presidential, or semi-presidential. In the current parliamentary system, the President of Pakistan is the largely ceremonial head of state, the Prime Minister is head of government, and there is a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is largely vested in the Parliament.

Famous quotes containing the words politics of and/or politics:

The politics of the exile are fever,
    revenge, daydream,
    theater of the aging convalescent.
You wait in the wings and rehearse.
    You wait and wait.
    Marge Piercy (b. 1936)

Philosophy, astronomy, and politics were marked at zero, I remember. Botany variable, geology profound as regards the mud stains from any region within fifty miles of town, chemistry eccentric, anatomy unsystematic, sensational literature and crime records unique, violin player, boxer, swordsman, lawyer, and self-poisoner by cocaine and tobacco.
    Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930)
