Quiver

A quiver is a container for arrows or bolts. Quivers can be attached in various positions on an archer's body, the bow, or the ground, depending on the type of shooting and the archer's personal preference. Quivers were traditionally made of leather, wood, furs, and other natural materials, but are now often made of metal or plastic.

Famous quotes containing the word quiver:

The bud of the apple is desire, the down-falling gold,
The catbird’s gobble in the morning half-awake
These are real only if I make them so. Whistle
For me, grow green for me and, as you whistle and grow green,
Intangible arrows quiver and stick in the skin
And I taste at the root of the tongue the unreal of what is real.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

    My arising prodigal
Sun the father his quiver full of the infants of pure fire ...
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

    I know that Quiet
Wanders laughing and eating her wild heart
Among pigeons and bees, while the Great Archer,
Who but awaits His hour to shoot, still hangs
    A cloudy quiver over Pairc-na-lee.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
