History

Saab-Valmet was established in 1968 as a joint venture of Valmet and Saab-Scania. The automotive plant was placed in Uusikaupunki, Finland. Since 1992 the company was owned by Valmet alone, and in 1995 it was renamed as Valmet Automotive. Since the merger of Rauma and Valmet in 1999 the owner is Metso. On 4th November 2010 Valmet Automotive signed agreement to buy Karmann´s roof-component sections in Osnabrück, Germany and Zary, Poland.
