Video Games
A video game named after the film was released for the ColecoVision in 1983. It played similarly to the NORAD side of the "Global Thermonuclear War" game, where the United States had to be defended from a Soviet strike by placing bases and weapons at strategic points. WarGames: Defcon 1, a real-time strategy game that was very loosely related to the film was released for the PlayStation and PC in 1998. A puzzle game, WarGames: WOPR, was released for iOS and Android devices in 2012.
A game inspired by the film called Computer War, in which the player must track and shoot down ICBMs as well as crack a computer code, was released for the TI-99/4A and Commodore VIC-20. The film also inspired the Introversion game DEFCON (2006).

Famous quotes related to video games:
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . todays children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
“I recently learned something quite interesting about video games. Many young people have developed incredible hand, eye, and brain coordination in playing these games. The air force believes these kids will be our outstanding pilots should they fly our jets.”
—Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)
