• American Eagle at Six Flags Great America is the longest, tallest, and fastest racing coaster in the world.
• Le Monstre, at La Ronde, Montreal, Canada is the tallest double track wooden roller coaster in the world.
• Balder at Liseberg Amusement Park, Gothenburg, Sweden. This was the second "prefabricated" wooden coaster to be built.
• Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain, California, United States. Was the world's tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster upon debut in 1978.
• The Beast at Kings Island, Ohio, United States. The Beast holds the world record for being the longest wooden roller coaster in the world.
• Bjergrutschebanen (the Mountain Roller Coaster) at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Denmark. Built 1914 and still run with brake men.
• Megafobia at Oakwood Theme Park in Pembrokeshire, Wales was built by Custom Coasters International (CCI) in 1996. The coaster features a twister style layout and is often ranked in the top 10 wooden roller coasters in the world. Megafobia was the first white-knuckle attraction to be installed at the Oakwood Theme Park (then Oakwood Leisure Park) in West Wales and transformed the park's fortunes from a small family leisure park to a major UK theme park.
• Coaster at Playland in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This signature attraction was built in 1958 and has speeds up to 75 km/h (47 mph). Featured in the movie Riding the Bullet.

• Dragon Coaster at Playland Park in Rye, New York, United States - opened in 1929; this wooden roller coaster allows the riders to "enter the dragon". This is named after the park's mascot, Coaster the Dragon.
• El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey, United States - opened in 2006 with one of the steepest drops of any wooden roller coaster (76 degrees).
• GhostRider at Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, California, United States - It is the longest wooden coaster on the West Coast.
• Grand National at Pleasure Beach Blackpool, United Kingdom - One of three Möbius loop roller coasters
• Hullámvasút at Vidámpark, Budapest, Hungary - Wooden roller coaster built in 1922 after the plans of Ervin Dragon, is 17 m (55.8 ft) in height and travels 980 m (3,215 ft) in five minutes. It is one of the few remaining side friction roller coasters in the world, and is an ACE Coaster Classic, operated since 1926, and still running.
• Leap-The-Dips at Lakemont Park, Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States - the world's oldest operating roller coaster (opened 1902).
• Thunderbolt at Kennywood Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania declared "King of the Coasters" by the New York Times. Kennywood is home to two other woodies: The Racer (a Moebius Loop) and the Jackrabbit, featuring a unique double-dip.
• The Scenic Railway Opened 7/3/1920 The oldest wooden coaster in the Britain and the 3rd oldest in the world is located at Dreamland Margate, Kent. In 2002 the ride became a Grade II listed building - the first UK amusement park attraction to achieve this status. It closed in 2005 and 25% of it was destroyed by fire on 7 April 2008, however, plans are afoot with English Heritage to restore it.
• Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion, Doswell, Virginia is a racing roller coaster, featuring two individual tracks that parallel each other. From 1993-2007 the Rebel Yell had one side of the tracks traveling forwards and one side traveling backwards. Named for the Civil War battle cry of the same name.
• Scenic Railway at Luna Park, Melbourne Australia Built in 1912, the Scenic Railway is the oldest continually-operating roller coaster in the world, and one of only 8 in existence requiring a brakeman to operate brakes whilst the train. For these reasons, it is regarded as an American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Classic.

• Shivering Timbers Fourth longest wooden roller coaster in the world (behind The Beast, Son of Beast, and The Voyage) and consistently well-rated in the Golden Ticket awards. Located at Michigan's Adventure near Muskegon, Michigan.
• The Voyage at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Santa Claus, Indiana, United States - features three 90-degree banked turns and is the third longest wooden roller coaster in the world behind Son of Beast and The Beast.
• Zippin Pippin the second oldest rollercoaster in America formerly at Libertyland, Memphis, Tennessee, United States - was Elvis Presley's favorite roller coaster. Elvis even rode the Zippin Pippin eight days before he died. The Zippin Pippin was moved and rebuilt at the Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
• Son of Beast at Kings Island, the world's tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster before closing in 2009, It was once the only wooden coaster to have an inversion (loop) before being removed in 2007 after an accident in July 2006. It was announced in July 2012 that the coaster would be demolished later that year.

• Outlaw Run, coming to Silver Dollar City (Branson, Missouri) in 2013. Will be the only wooden coaster in the world (after Son of Beast) to have inversions, including a double barrel roll and an over-banked turn, it will also be the steepest wooden coaster in the world too with an 81 degree drop.
